The “one up from house” Aberlour option is the 12 year old, which has been double cask matured, meaning that it has spent part of its maturation in bourbon casks, part in sherry casks.
The Whisky Tasting Club Notes:
Nose: Garibaldi biscuits, plums, crisp green fruit.
Palate: Incredibly smooth sherry and galaxy chocolate at first, then ginger spice and wood. Quite drying.
