Arran Single Sherry Cask

 Tasting Cask 96/1754. ABV  59.4%

By rights I’m not sure a brutish cask such as this should work with a malt like Arran. It does though – brilliantly, a Little & Large combination with lots of kitchen pantry odours, Christmas cake mix and mouth-coating grain, red berry and orange fruits on the palate. It’s surprisingly astringent, too, the oak sucking back the malt and making for a drying finish. Surprise, surprise.

Arran are selling it direct from their site for £45.99
